Transplant On-Call Coordinator
Part Time, Rotating Shifts
3800 Reservoir Road, NW, Washington, DC 20007
Serves as the on-call transplant coordinator for the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute. Works off-site to provide night, weekend and holiday coverage for the Institute. Triages patient and referring MD phone calls. Responds to organ offers and coordinates transplants. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Education/Training:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the health sciences, nursing or other related field required.
  • Current D.C. licensure in discipline.

Required Experience:
  • Three years of professional clinical experience as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or registered dietitian preferred.
  • Candidates with at least 1 year of transplant-related experience strongly preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies to administer patient care.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility in schedule and tasks, as needed.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good customer service skills and attitude; team player.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities will be assessed within the first ninety days of employment.
