Transplant Donor Net Coordinator
PRN / Per Diem, Rotating Shifts
3800 Reservoir Road, NW, Washington, DC 20007
Serves as the on-call Donor Net/Organ Coordinator for the Transplant Program. Maintains current transplant listing information for patients and screens patient emergency calls. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. The PRN role for on-call Transplant Coordinators functions on an as-needed basis with no guaranteed number of hours weekly.

Required Education/Training:
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Current D.C. license as a Registered Professional Nurse preferred.

Required Experience:
  • Five to seven years of related research/transplant data experience.
  • Outpatient/transplant patient experience and contributions to clinical research highly desirable.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent understanding of implementing and maintaining transplant database and statistical information related to research.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have familiarity with necessary computer/database software and hardware.
  • Understanding of professional healthcare practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of patient relations and education.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
