Temporary, Part Time, Days
The individual in this position provides administrative and project support to the Finance Department. The individual is responsible for activities specifically assigned by the supervisor related to general office duties, financial analysis, creating presentations and project summaries, and supporting the Finance team through in-depth follow-up of issues pertinent to the department. The individual will assist with the daily operations of the department in conjunction with the Finance staff by preparing meeting materials and agendas, conducting research and learning and teaching use of new and existing software to support the department. In addition, the individual will assist with developing, populating and managing financial data reports in coordination with the department administrator and may be assigned a variety of other administrative tasks. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's (MGUH) philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Education and/or training and experience in a healthcare finance setting is preferred, including Bachelor's degree.
- Enrollment in a Master's program strongly preferred.
- Average proficiency with Excel and Word. Microsoft Access preferred but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills and good telephone etiquette.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of different individuals.
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
