Performs all activities related to provider enrollment with third-party payers, managed care networks and PUBS-directed activities related to delegated and centralized credentialing requirements, including timely and accurate enrollment of all new providers into existing third-party contracts, enrollment of existing providers into new contracts, and maintenance of existing providers in current contracts. Maintains accurate and complete information in the IDX Provider and Referring Physicians Dictionaries and PUBS Provider Enrollment Database. Acts as liaison with GUH clinical departments to ensure optimal flow of information between the providers and PUBS.
These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Associate's degree with Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Medical billing experience with IDX billing system and provider enrollment and/or credentialing in the healthcare field preferred, preferably in an academic medical center.
- Outstanding critical thinking and analytical skills.
- End-user computer skills with Microsoft Office package.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access database software capabilities and uses.
