Under close supervision, exercises responsibilities for enforcement of organizational policies and procedures relating to individual personal security, safety and the protection of properties. Observes for untoward activity and conditions with the potential to negatively impact personnel, patient and visitor safety, while on the premises. Acts to prevent thefts, fires, vandalism, illegal entry, and personal harm. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent, General Educational Development (GED).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in security/law enforcement within a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Qualified with valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain District of Columbia Special Police Commission certificate within 90 days of date of hire.
