Responsible for the coordination of patient care across the continuum of radiation oncologic care for all patients. Educates/provides information, supports patients and facilitates treatment plans. Functions as a patient advocate, and guides patients and families throughout cancer care and survivorship experience. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Licensure as an RN in the District of Columbia.
  • Oncology nurse certification preferred.

Required Experience:
  • 4-5 years of clinical nursing experience in oncology required.
  • Experience with surgical oncology, inpatient/outpatient/community oncology services preferred.
  • Must have clinical maturity and experience, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:     
  • Position requires a high level of advocacy and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to multitask and organize advocacy and support for a large and varied group of cancer patients and their families.
  • Knowledge of community resources helpful.
