The Division of Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Hematology and Oncology
offers state-of-the-art clinical care, consultation, education, and follow-up in a compassionate, family-centered environment to all patients with cancer and blood disorders. Our multidisciplinary, collaborative team comprises pediatric hematologists/oncologists, oncology nurse practitioners, APHON-certified oncology nurses, clinical research associates, social workers, case managers, psychiatrists, art therapists, nutritionists, patient advocates, and chaplains. We specialize in treating patients with all pediatric cancer and blood disorders—from infants to 29 years of age in an academic setting utilizing the latest advancements in treatment and research.
The division is part of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center—the area’s only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center and one of only 41 in the nation. Our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program

The Division of Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Hematology and Oncology is currently seeking a Nurse Manager II
to manage the day-to-day operations of the Pediatric Infusion Service. In this role, the incumbent would:
Participate in planning, directing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the nursing care delivery system for outpatient Pediatric Hematology/Oncology clinic, to ensure that the nursing care is performed according to established standards.
Provide direct patient care, continually monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services that are provided on the unit.
Coordinate and collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments on those activities related to patient and unit services.
Participate in research and development activities of the unit.
Assign Charge Nurse responsibility to other qualified nursing staff in his/her absence.
Participate in personnel management functions for the designated area to include, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, evaluating, promoting, and terminating employees as delegated by or with the department head’s approval.
Plan and/or provide (as delegated) orientation, training, continuing education programs, or other opportunities for learning for the unit and other hospital staff as appropriate.
Participate in monitoring and controlling assigned operational and capital budgets within administrative/departmental guidelines.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
BSN degree required; MSN preferred.
Chemotherapy certification required through Oncology Nursing Society.
APHON certification or APHON eligibility and completed within one year of hire.
Minimum of two years of clinical experience in pediatric oncology and ambulatory experience.
