Responsible for patient assessment, care and post-procedure follow-up of patients undergoing invasive procedures or sedation in the Department of Radiology. This is accomplished according to an established plan of care, under the direction of the Clinical Radiology Manager in charge of Nursing, who is a licensed Registered Nurse. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Education/Training:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia.
  • BLS required, ACLS required within 6 months, and PALS certification preferred.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in critical care, emergency care or PACU.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition, invasive pressure monitoring, conscious sedation and emergency care.
  • Comprehensive assessment skills.
