General Summary of Position:
Analyzes, maintains and initiates financial transactions and the associated paperwork to ensure the appropriate processing of documents in the department. Assists the Division Administrators with the daily financial operations of the department. Assists with annual budget development, providing current expenses and estimating forthcoming targets. Performs financial forecasting, financial reporting and oversight of accounting and payroll functions and auditing. Responsible for 3rd next available report, regular AAMC salary report, UHC wRVU report, CFTE report, Bump report, charge lag report, co-pay report, KPS reporting, NRC picker report, patient experience report, rejection report, unsigned notes report, and the unspecified codes report for processing, monitoring and evaluating. Monitors and assists division and department administrators in providing preliminary approval and compliance with budget of all submitted expenses. Monitors status of all financial issues and provides back-up and follow-up on behalf of the division and department administrators. This position will also be the main point of contact for all EMR-related issues within the Department of Medicine. These functions are performed in accordance with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • A minimum of two to four years of directly related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows, WP, Excel, and Access with particular emphasis as it relates to spreadsheet software, data searches, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce reports/data in an accurate and timely manner and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to assimilate statistical information in a meaningful manner.
