Director, Business Development of Durable Medical Equipment

This position serves as the Director, Business Development of our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program in the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute. This position is responsible for the development and ongoing management of this program that is important to the financial success of our organization. This business line will allow the Institute to realize new revenue streams to improve the financial performance of the orthopaedic service line by contributing an annual surplus to the organization. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience:
  • Must have five to seven years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic medical center setting.
  • Knowledge of PC, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Good working knowledge of administrative principles and practices, personnel, purchasing, and payroll procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory guidelines related to employment law and wage and hour practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.
  • This person may be required to do three or more of the essential functions simultaneously.
