The Credentials Coordinator processes initial and renewal applications for professional staff appointments and clinical privileges, as well as authorizations and reauthorizations for allied health professionals. These functions are coordinated with the AVP, Regulatory Readiness and are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of three years of hospital-based credentialing and privileging experience; will consider a combination of other credentialing experience.
- Current certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) through the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred. If not certified at time of hire, must become certified as a CPCS within one year of hire.
- Computer and database experience essential.
- Must be accurate and detail-oriented with an ability to handle multiple projects and reach multiple deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
