General Summary of Position:
The incumbent in this position functions as an Operations Administrator for the Department of Gastroenterology. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the personnel,  facilities, services, provider-payer relations, coordination, training, reporting management, and patient experience resolution. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Healthcare/Business; Master's degree preferred (but not required) in Health Administration or related field.
  • Four years of directly related management experience preferred in a medical practice.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment. 
  • Good knowledge of (instructional) accounting principles and practices. 
  • Background in terminology of the department is desirable. 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to plan, assign and review work and to supervise. 
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. 
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. 
  • Organized and able to handle multiple projects at a time.
