Exciting opportunity with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in the cath lab! This lab is a multidisciplinary lab, working with a variety of service lines in addition to diagnostic cardiac procedures. Our procedures include angiogram, bronchoscopy, bone marrow harvest, L/R heart caths, fistulagram, insertion of IVC filters/loop records, and renal biopsies. The incumbent in this position will assist with all invasive cardiovascular procedures. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Education/Training:
  • Associate's degree; BS preferred.
  • EKG/hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT) or Registered Radiology Tech (RT) required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of six months as a cardiovascular technologist.
  • Additional vascular exposure desirable or similar/related job experience.
  • Current knowledge and techniques in cath lab.
  • Knowledge of cardiology meds, EKG monitoring and starting IVs.
  • Must be able to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.
